May 22-23, 2017 – Mesa
Verde National Park
This park was created in 1906 to preserve the archeological
heritage of the Ancestral Pueblo people’s cliff dwellings. Hiking trails are minimal and most dwellings
can be viewed from lookout points.
However, there are tours of some cliff dwellings conducted by park
rangers.
Balcony
House – open to ranger-guided hikes only.
Hike included climbing 2 long ladders, squeezing thru tight corridors
and crawling through a small tunnel.
